An FHA loan permits borrowers to include repair/improvement money into their mortgage used to repair, improve, or upgrade their home. With this loan option, borrowers can quickly and easily tap into cash to pay for property repairs or improvements, such roof replacement, flooring, painting, kitchen and bath renovations, tile, gutters, etc and even structural repairs.
There are two types of FHA 203k loans: Standard and Limited. Standard 203k is for repairs and renovations that exceed $35,000 and limited being for repairs under $35,000.
